OBJECTIVE: Create a set of five greeting cards containing famous quotes. Each card must be unique in its own way but also still be consistent enough to be grouped together.
PROCESS: This project began with typography. I started by researching different types of fonts ranging from humanistic styles to more artistic/hand drawn typefaces. Because this was one of the first projects in my graphic design career, I explored how specific typefaces worked with similar typefaces. I wanted the card set to look as if they were printed on kraft paper but also have a much more cleaner look. I achieved this by making the background of each card kraft paper color without the kraft paper texture. Each card utilizes three fonts, simple lines and shapes. Overall, I think the project was a success because the typography makes the quotes stand out and that was the ultimate goal.
