OBJECTIVE: Design a specialty invitation set for a non–profit gala event. Events like these are used to raise money for organizations or associations. They are used as fund raisers to offset costs and to raise capitol for the organization. The main objective of the piece is to get people to the event and to get sponsors to want to be a part of it as well. The client for the event will be habitat for humanity.
PROCESS: I chose to go with a very obvious concept for the invitations because if it was too quirky or different the audience may get lost. I decided to make the main invitation into a mini roulette wheel which actually spins to reveal more information about the event. The main invite is interactive and will grab anyone attention and may even serve as a keepsake when the event is over. The save the date mimics a giant poker chip and was printed on very thick card stock. The rsvp is shaped like playing cards but opens like a book so attendees can write their payment information inside. All invitations come with their own individual envelope which contains a kraft paper finish on the inside to give it a rustic feel. The texture all the invitation pieces are covered in also gives it an aged/vintage feel.
SPECIAL RECOGNITION: This project won a 2014 Silver American Advertising Federation award for direct marketing.
